ROBOT AND DRONE NEWS: ROBOT AS A COMPANION SERVICES PROVIDER

Image
Did you hear of Pepper robot? It is a Japanese robot, able to display emotional responses like a human being. Created by a Japanese company named Softbank, this robot has a humanoid body. Pepper was originally envisioned as a companion robot for household settings, but now has grown to be used in several different settings globally. In Belgium, they guide patients through hospital departments. In Canada, they are used as the face greeting when you enter the bank. In Japan, they sell coffee machines and, most recently, in the UK, Pepper is being used for community engagement. Pepper is engaging with humans across the globe and people are becoming more used to the idea of robots providing them with care. Another such innovation in the area of companion robotics is Ryan. It is designed to assist aging people, especially those with Alzheimer’s. This companion robot can recognize your face, facial expressions, and voice while also being able to converse with you

Explosive Growth in Robot and Drone Technologies and Investment Opportunities

Image
From shipping industry to agriculture to many other fields, drone and robots are supercharging their capabilities and efficiencies to the optimum level. They are quickly growing beyond their traditional dead-end jobs on factory floors. Look into the recent revelations by Amazon where it says of the drone-shipments of packages. That will expedite shipping process immeasurably. Similarly, agricultural drones are unmanned aerial vehicles or UAVs, which are being used for precision agriculture. Modern method of farming uses Big Data, aerial imagery, and other means to optimize agriculture efficiency. As a result, this new-age agriculture becomes more powerful, thanks to the gains of data processing capabilities enabling users to take informed decisions about farming. There is the medical robotic system. This is growing like never before. Though it has been around for more than two decades, it is now blooming massively and transforming virtually every aspect of healthcare around

FPV DRONE RACING IS NOW EASIER TO FLY

Image
Drone races are performed by using FPV or First Person View systems. FPV is a type of drone flying where pilots use cameras to fly drones as if they were sitting in the cockpit. Some pilots fly using FPV monitors, whereas others use specialized FPV goggles to give them a better immersive experience. What is a FPV system? FPV, also known as remote person view or RPV, or simply speaking, video piloting, is a method used to control a radio-controlled vehicle from the driver’s or pilot’s view point. Their common use is seen in piloting a radio-controlled aircraft or other type of unmanned aerial vehicle or UAV.  How is FPV drone racing different from drone racing? They are different mainly by manoeuvrability and racing course. While drone racing simply involves completing an obstacle race course in the fastest possible time, FPV drone racing involves navigating tight corners, under trees, around obstacles, and through small openings all the while doing tricks

Drone racing to overtake eSports

Image
People are now more inclined to technology-based drone racing and eSports than viewing sports like football and baseball. At least, the recent studies have brought this data out. Viewership of eSports or electronic system facilitated sports, especially video games, are on the rise while decline in viewing of sports like baseball, football is creating an opening for a new sport to gain popularity. The tech sports are in direct competition with one another. Drone racing sport has evolved so strongly and become a bona fide spectator sport. Though in its infancy, drone racing is gaining so much popularity worldwide and has been generating incredible profits since the beginning. By seeing this, drone racing industry is developing newer technologies that are far better now like never before while working on new models constantly with an eye to meet popular wishes and requirements of drone racing sportspersons. New models of drones are coming out with much more capability and bril

Emerging Technology Trends – How are they evolving business?

Image
Emerging technologies are closely linked to the future of knowledge work. They play key roles in shaping and transforming how knowledge work will run and how companies in multiple industries will have to adapt and in some cases rethink their business model end-to-end. Let’s focus here on emerging technology trends. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotic technology, drones, software-defined security and brain-computer interfaces have moved significantly during this time. Artificial intelligence makes the machines and systems smarter by consuming data to train algorithms and build models that could mimic real-world scenarios and also think like humans. AI technologies have been the most disruptive class of technologies due to the amount of data and the evolution of neutral networks, which are being used to solve non-existent challenges currently. Robotic technology is rapidly growing, bringing in revolutionary impacts all over, that ranges f

FPV Drone Racing: All you need to know about this sport Drones are the new high in the world of technology and development. They have just opened a wider angle of looking at things. Further strengthening their demand in the market, the idea of FPV (first person view) drone racing came up.  It isn’t just a game, but a sort of sport that has been setting its feet all over the world over the years. It is a sport wherein high-tech drones, high-tech goggles, and high-speed racing are combined. Generally done in closed spaces, it is rather fun and thrilling experience to watch an FPV drone racing.  How to begin with FPV drone racing? The basic FPV drone racers need to know how to fly a quadcopter, because it allows them to practice a lot of flight maneuvers before they move on to the FPV drone racing. This is why all what you have to do is to begin with a basic copter. You will crash a number of times before finally becoming a pro at it.  Types

Robot and drone investment to soar as huge growth potential is visible

Did you hear about Revo-i? It is an indigenously made surgical robotic system in South Korea, duly approved by the Ministry of Food and Drugs Safety (MFDS) of the country. Manufactured by the Meere Company, Revo-i is aimed to help surgeons perform general endoscopic surgery, a procedure that uses cameras or sensors to diagnose or treat conditions through small incisions or natural body openings. This Revo-i system has four robotic arms that are controlled by the surgeon and an imaging system that provides 3D images. At least, one of the robotic arms is inserted into the body through a small incision and the surgeon uses the system to find out the body part which needs to be treated. Medical robotics system has been around for more than two decades, but they are just now transforming virtually every aspect of healthcare around the world at an accelerating rate. Do you remember the Intuitive Surgical’s da Vinci teleoperated system? It was designed to handle various functions
